Mogean and SafeGraph: two ways to buy POI data
Mogean sells US points-of-interest datasets with published prices. This page puts that next to how SafeGraph's own pricing page describes its pricing, quoted in the table below.
It compares how each is bought, not what is in the data. Nothing here says either company's data is more accurate, more complete or better than the other's. How Mogean's data is built is on the methodology page. Every statement about SafeGraph below is quoted from its own public page, dated, and linked to it.
Side by side: how each is priced
| Mogean | SafeGraph | |
|---|---|---|
| How the price is set | Published prices: brand datasets $19–$79 one-time, category bundles $199–$1,999 one-time, single-state datasets $19–$662 a year, the full US master $14,900 a year. Custom datasets are priced by a published formula: max($29, rows × tier rate) × license multiplier, then max(floor_usd, sum(rows_in_tier * tier_rate) * license_multiplier). Whole-brand, whole-category, and whole-source custom requests are capped at the cheapest published product covering them; filtered selections (states, data sources, columns) are formula-priced and may exceed a broader published product's price.. |
|
| Is there a number on the page? | Yes. Every dataset price is on the pricing page, and it is what checkout charges. Two exceptions are marked on the pricing page: government-source pricing scales by source size, and redistributing the Full US master is closed by direct agreement. |
|
| Usage rights | Three license tiers: internal ×1, product-embedded ×3, redistribution ×10. You pick one at checkout, except that redistributing the Full US master is closed by direct agreement. |
|
| Trying it first | Free sample rows on the dataset pages, no sign-up. |

Which way of buying fits
A custom annual agreement fits when you want a specific mix of rows, columns and usage rights put together for you.
A published ladder fits when you want to read the price first, pick a brand, a category or a state, look at free sample rows, and have the file at checkout.
The whole ladder, the custom-dataset formula and the license tiers are on the pricing page. How the data is built and checked is on the methodology page, and the schema and loading guides are in the docs.
FAQ
SafeGraph's pricing page says “Pay a simple annual fee based on your custom mix of rows, columns, and usage rights.” (As of October 2026, per SafeGraph's public pricing page). Its pricing action reads “Request Pricing” (As of October 2026, per SafeGraph's public pricing page). Mogean's side: Published prices: brand datasets $19–$79 one-time, category bundles $199–$1,999 one-time, single-state datasets $19–$662 a year, the full US master $14,900 a year. See the pricing page for the whole ladder.
Yes. Every dataset has a price on the pricing page, and it is what checkout charges. Custom datasets follow a published formula, so the same request always quotes the same number. Two exceptions are marked on the pricing page: government-source pricing scales by source size, and redistributing the Full US master is closed by direct agreement.
With Mogean: Free sample rows on the dataset pages, no sign-up. SafeGraph's pricing page says “We can cut custom samples that allow you to evaluate our data …” (As of October 2026, per SafeGraph's public pricing page).
Three license tiers: internal ×1, product-embedded ×3, redistribution ×10. You pick one at checkout, except that redistributing the Full US master is closed by direct agreement. Internal is for analysis and reports you keep inside your organization, product-embedded for data shipped inside something you sell, redistribution for reselling the data itself. The pricing page explains each in plain English. On usage rights, SafeGraph's pricing page says “No pay-per-use policies or restrictive usage terms—get a custom dataset with flexible delivery …” “Define the usage rights and delivery terms that fit your needs.” (As of October 2026, per SafeGraph's public pricing page).
